DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund announced the elevation of Vinit Sambre as Head of Equities and Rohit Singhania as Co-Head of Equities. This move follows the departure of Anup Maheshwari as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) at the AMC.
Vinit Sambre is the manager of the highly successful DSP Blackrock Small Cap Fund (previously DSP Blackrock Microcap Fund). This is one of India’s most popular small cap funds with an AUM of Rs 6,248 crores. The fund was successful, while it had to halt fresh inflows in Feb 2017 to protect the returns. Rohit Singhania is the manager of DSP BlackRock T.I.G.E.R Fund, DSP BlackRock Equity Opportunities Fund and DSP BlackRock Taxsaver Fund. He has been with DSP BlackRock Mutual Fund since 2005.

DSP BlackRock recently announced a split between the two constituents of the AMC. BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset managers, is exiting the fund and selling its entire 40% stake to DSP which already holds a 60% stake. You can read more about this here.
