Anup Maheshwari, former chief investment officer of DSP Blackrock MF, will join IIFL Asset Management Company as the joint CEO and chief investment officer (CIO) with effect from mid-August 2018.
Maheshwari, who joined DSP Blackrock MF in 1997 and had occupied several different roles since then, resigned as CIO-equities in April.
Maheshwari will be responsible for the investment and strategy for both the mutual funds and alternative investment funds businesses at IIFL.
In a statement, Karan Bhagat, founder and MD & CEO of IIFL Investment Managers, said, “Maheshwari’s successful experience in investment management, both offshore and onshore, will be highly advantageous to IIFL AMC.”
Maheshwari said, “IIFL AMC deservingly has a strong reputation as a leader in the AIF (alternative investment funds) space with many innovations under its belt. We at IIFL AMC are in an excellent position to capitalise on the growth opportunities presented by the Indian market.”
Maheshwari is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
